ECO BAG

PERSONAL RESEARCH

ECO BAG

During my personal research I found in a Brazilian web site www,uol.com.br  these very creative eco bag, made from an old t-shirt.
I will show you now all the steps how to make this very environmentally friendly bag, which you can use to go to supermarket or even clothing shopping.
Here are the steps how to make your eco bag.

  1. Get an old t-shirt, turn it inside out, draw the shape you want your bag to be, square, oval, rectangular, the size it is up to you.

  2.  Now add both parts front and back and sewing the borders.

. 3. Using a ruler and a pen to drawn the traces. Important: leave a space of four centimeters from the top of the bag, before you start to trace.

  4. Using a pair of scissors or a stiletto, cut the spaces in between the  lines previously traced, leave a space of 2cm in between cuts.

5.PASSO 7: Estique a sua bolsa.
PASSO 8: É isso aí! Se você lavá-la e as fendas se enrolarem um pouco, o visual fica ainda melhor. 5. After that, just stretch the bag and start to use it!!!  and enjoy!!!
You are not only using a very cool eco bag, but also doing in part in save the planet.

Bye !!!

DRAPING

DRAPING

Dear Friends....welcome back!

Today we are going to talk about DRAPING, I must to confess that this was so far my favorite workshop, I really enjoy Caryl's lecture today, showing us how to make a base for a dress, so we can add any other details on the garment, we had to work in pairs, so this time I worked with Kim Steveson and we create some very inspired pieces of garment which we both were very pleased.
Here some details of today's workshop.

1. These are the material we need for this workshop: Calico, paper, pencil, tape measurement and ruler.

2. And a good quality stand.

3.  Iron the Calico helps to get a better result.

4. Once ironed, we started to mold the fabric on the  stand to create the body shape.

5. We need to pay attention to the collar detail, cutting some parts of the fabric, so we can  follow the collar line.

6. Then we have to pin the fold we made before  in the  bust and waste lines.

7. The same process must be repeated on the left hand side.

8. The same process applies to the back side of the garment...

9. Always following the same process...pinning the folds on the shoulder and waste lines, following the body shape.

10. My dear fellow student....the lovely Chloe  modelling for me....thanks Chloe!!! love you!!!

11. Once we take the mold from the stand, we unpin  it and  place  the fabric on  top of the paper, so we can  take the pattern, according with the size we want.

12.  Again here the same process.....

12. After that, back on the stand again and we will work now some  draping.  creating  some  very creative and interesting garments.

13. Starting with the top....left hand side....then the right and so  on....

14.  And here....the first garment we created...very  theatrical...

15. Same piece....full length.

16. From Another angle...

17. Very interesting collar....bulky!!!!

18. Front detail.

19. Back full length.

20. Back detail.

21. Another garment.

21. Interesting details.....rich!!!!

22. I love this dramatic version....

23. Again dramatic and theatrical....

24. Detail...

Well....guys....that is it....thank very much for reading my blog,
And I hope to see you again soon, when I will post some more workshops.

                                                            Thanks ...and  Bye for now.

PLEATING

PLEATING

Today we will talk about a very interesting method of folding and manipulating fabrics called PLEATING,  in this session today we had a Pleating Workshop with Terry Weinhart from Ciment Pleaters, a very well established and well known british company with many years of experience.
The session start with Terry explains about his company and them showed a slide show about pleating and then we had the opportunity to see a variety of different types and styles of pleating, below some pictures of some interesting types of pleating.

Another type of pleating

Kim Steveson posing as model, using one of the pleating.

These are the basic materials we need to start pleating.

One of my own creations, I pleated this following  Terry's  instructions.

Hands on...working on my pleating.

Well....and this is another post of my blog, I hope you are enjoying, as much as I am...
And I will see you next time!
Take care!
